This work emanates from my memory of a landscape and its atmosphere. The paintings are an expression of my emotions to these eternal forces through colour, texture, light and space.
I usually begin by sketching on location to get a direct physical sensation of my subject matter and then paint in the studio from memory.
The painting then becomes a process of discovery in itself, where the subconscious and the intuitive take over and hence a very personal response emerges through the process of painting.
